The Remuneration tab helps you keep track of how your team is paid and how it compares to the wider market. You can use the Remuneration tab to review current pay across your team, compare to what others are paid in similar roles, and identify employees who may be due for a pay increase.
To get to the Remuneration tab, go to People > Remuneration:
The overview shows a row for each employee with the following details:
Display Name - The employee's display name, as set in their personal details.
Job Title - The employee's job title, as set in their employee details. This is used to benchmark their pay.
Pay Rate - The employee's current gross hourly pay rate. Rates are shown hourly for both salaried and hourly employees.
Effective Hourly Rate - The employee's total pay (gross earnings, taxable allowances, and employer KiwiSaver contributions) divided by hours worked over the last 12 months, or since they started.
Last Review Date - The date the employee's pay was last updated in PayHero.
Last Change % - The percentage increase from the employee's most recent pay change.
You can use the search bar in the top right to find an employee quickly, or click the employee's row to view their full remuneration details.
Benchmark
The Benchmark section shows how the employee's remuneration compares to current market pay data, based on their job title.
Job Title - The employee's job title, as set in their employment details. If not already set, select an option from the drop-down menu, or start typing to search. Changes are applied automatically.
Benchmark Pay Rate - The midpoint of the benchmark pay range. Shown as a yearly salary or hourly rate depending on the employee's settings.
Benchmark Pay Range - The pay range for someone with the selected job title. Shown as a yearly salary or hourly rate depending on the employee's settings.
Pay Review
The Pay Review section summarises the employee's current pay, their most recent change, and any suggested increase to bring them in line with their benchmark range.
Current Pay Rate - The employee's gross hourly rate.
Last Review Date - The date the employee's pay was last updated in PayHero, along with how many months have passed since then.
Last Change - The dollar increase per hour applied at the most recent pay change.
Last Change % - The percentage increase applied at the most recent pay change.
Effective Hourly Rate - The employee's total pay (gross earnings, taxable allowances, and employer KiwiSaver contributions) divided by hours worked over the last 12 months, or since they started.
Suggested Increase - The increase needed to lift the employee's pay to the bottom of their benchmark range. Shown as both a percentage and a dollar amount per hour. If the employee is already within or above the benchmark range, this will show as +0.00%.

PayHero uses anonymised data sets to calculate benchmark pay ranges based on employees' job titles. This gives you a view of what employees in similar roles are typically paid, so you can see how your team's pay compares to the wider market.

Some fields will show as Pending when there isn't enough market data available to calculate a value. They'll populate once more data becomes available.

The Last Review Date only tracks pay changes made going forward, so any updates made before this feature was introduced won't appear here. The date will update next time you make a pay change for that employee.
