PayHero allows you to pay your employees for either time worked or for piecemeal work. Piecemeal work means paying employees per unit completed, such as per apple box packed. You can also pay a combination of time and units.
If you pay your employees piecemeal rates you'll need to setup pay items and work types for their units to be recorded against, and you'll need to ensure their actual hours and days of work are also able to be captured.
New Pay Item
First, you'll need to create a new Pay Item for the piecemeal work.
Go to Manage > Pay Items and after selecting the icon, choose Other Earnings.
Set the Units to Other and enter a name describing what the units are. The unit name will appear on your employees' time entry screen as a prompt to enter the number of units completed, as well as on the payslip to indicate the payment for those units.
For Rate Type selection, Normal, Second and Third will use the default rates set for each employee. Fixed will allow you to set a fixed rate per unit and Variable can be used for differing rates per pay.
Your new Pay Item should look something like this:

Next, create a new Work Type and set the corresponding pay item as the Timesheet Pay Item.
Hours & Days
Care is required with piecemeal employees to ensure their leave entitlements are calculated correctly, and that they're meeting minimum wage requirements. Both require that the employee's hours and days of work are captured in PayHero. There are two options for achieving this:
Work Pattern - If your employees have fixed hours and days per week, you can set their Work Pattern to Hours per Day so that PayHero has the details of how many hours your employee works each day.
Record Hours - Alternatively, if your employees' hours and/or days of work vary they'll need to record their work hours in addition to their units. You'd need to set up a Pay Item to pay them 0x their normal rate, which would look like this:
